Phone Banking for the Washington Coordinated Campaign

On August 5th instead of our normal meeting we will be phone banking at the Coordinated Campaign office at 1220 Bay Street, Bellingham. Calling will last from 5 pm to 8:30pm. Show up when you can.

We will be helping out the Coordinated Campaign and the Governor's campaign. Phone banking involves calling voters to remind them to vote and to vote the entire Democratic ticket. For anyone who has never phone banked before, this will be a great opportunity to get the hang of it with friends and there is free pizza! Yes, you read that right, there will be free pizza.

Bellingham Pride Parade and Festival

This year's Bellingham Pride Parade is going to be on Sunday, July 13th starting at 11 am. The Whatcom County Young Democrats are going to be marching in the parade as our first official community participation event. We'll be wearing our t-shirts that we'll make on Thursday, but even if you can't make it on Thursday you should come out and watch the parade or march alongside us. Dozens of local organizations and groups will be participating as well. It should be lots of fun!

Be at the Bellingham High School Parking Lot at 10:30 am. The parade will march down Cornwall and continue on to end at Depot Market Square. If you need a ride or have any other concerns, join our mailing list.

After the parade, several friendly organizations such as Planned Parenthood, the Washington Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign, and the Whatcom County Democrats will be tabling during the festival, and as if now they all are looking for people to volunteer to man tables to help out. If your Sunday is open and you want to table for a good cause or two, give them a call or just come out to the parade and I'll find a place for you to sit and hang out during the fair afterward!

Doorbelling for Kevin Ranker

Kevin Ranker, one of the candidates running for the 40th LD Senate seat, is going to be having a door-belling party on Saturday morning, July 12th. Volunteers will be meeting at the Calico Cupboard in Anacortes at 9:30 am before hitting the neighborhoods. Anyone who needs a ride down should meet at 8 am at Jason's house at 500 Highland Drive in Bellingham for the carpool.

The doorbelling should last from about 9:30 am to noon. Afterward, the Ranker campaign will treat the volunteers to lunch before heading back to Bellingham. Come out and donate some of your time to getting a great Democratic candidate elected in our district! For more information call Jason Heck, Ranker's campaign manager, at 360-220-5914.

Welcome to the Whatcom Young Democrats!

We're a new group trying to get people involved here in Whatcom County. Join us at our meetings.
